I really don't like the blurple G10 on the S110V.... It's semi translucent... Not my cup of tea, the jade I like or naked G10 I also don't mind... But this thing is half-a--ed both way... My Native 5 S110V FRN blue is really nice, love that little guy!

Has any one try to dye it? I want to either use black or dark blue or dark purple. Would the dye make it solid color? Without the semi translucent?

Anyone with experience please post some pictures.

I RIT dyed a camo PM2 a little while ago with pretty good results. It ended up mostly black, but you could still make out some parts of the camo underneath. I had to boil the scales in a pot of dye for literally four or five hours in order to really get it to set in. I didn't use vinegar, though, which I've heard can help. If you do decide to dye, just read the directions and don't rush through it.

Since I could still see some camo when I did it, I was never really happy with the results. I just ended up posting in the "wanted to buy" section of the exchange for a pair of black scales and someone messaged me in a couple hours. You might give this a shot, too, if you don't want to bother with dying. Or maybe someone wants to just trade scales with you. Worth a shot!

Just find someone to trade scales with. That's what I'd probably do. I'm not fond of the blue/purple either.

Just also be aware that the PM2 lanyard tube is flared on both ends, and that taking the scales off can be a little tricky.

Sell them..trade them...

Replace them with a custom set made
by BF members.

But don't Bubba Them

I dyed with no problem blue scaled tenacious. it was a light baby blue and I used royal blue rit dye. You need to put vinegar in the mixture, I used the nylon recipe for the G10. It takes less then 30 mins to dye them. They came out black, then I scrubbed them with a scotch bright pad and the color came trough. they turned out navy blue, but I was left well satisfied. Doing homemade stonewash is pretty cool too.

It's not as hard as people say. Just have the right tools (for me pilers and a vise).

When I removed my lanyard tube on my pm2, I was able to work the two handles back and forth until one handle side came loose. This left the other side with the tube slightly raised. I took a watch pry tool. (blade like pry tool) and rocked it back and forth to slowly lift the tube out. This left the lanyard tube perfectly intact, and didn't damage/whiten the blurple scales.

It was also my first time taking one apart. I was quite pleased with myself....

I doubt if the RIT dye is very opaque. I have a PM2 with RIT, I suppose I could try shining a light through it although the standard digicam doesn't seem very translucent with the pattern inked on top of it.
