Polish a DLC Coating?

Has anyone polished or know if there is a way to polish a DLC blade coating without removing it? The reason I ask is that I was using my paper buffing wheel to hone up the serrations on my L.U.D.T., which has a DLC coated blade, and I accidentally buffed a little too far above the serrations on the back side of the blade  The coating in that spot has not been removed in any way, but it is what I would call "scuffed", and is noticeably different looking than the rest of the blade coating. I would much rather give the whole thing a uniform polish, if possible, than remove the coating altogether. Any suggestions?

Try a piece of fine scotch brite but use it very lightly and for only a few passes. It's abrasive too and will remove the coating if used too much. I don't know if you can do much for it though.

Ok, I didn't have any Scotch-Brite pads, so I decided to do a quick test with something else. I squirted a little MAAS metal polishing liquid on a microfiber cloth and went to work with my finger. Lo and behold, the DLC coating started to polish up nicely, and was able to polish out all but the deepest part of the scuff mark. I spent about another ten minutes going over the rest of the blade, and apart from a couple of spots that need a little more work it looks pretty damn good! It would be great if I had the Microtech screwdriver bit to disassemble the knife. Anyway, this was certainly a better option than sanding off the entire coating.
