Hello! Can anyone recommend an affordable polishing cloth that would be okay to use on stainless and carbon steel blades as well as brass fittings? I have katana's, khukuri, bowie's, tomahawks, machete's, as well as smaller fixed knives around Mora length and folders that I would like to polish as nicely as I can before I apply a couple coats of renaissance wax to them to display without worrying about them rusting. I already have pastes like MetalGlo, Flitz, and Hagerty's but want a nice polishing cloth. Thank you.

I use an old diaper. Well used and 38 years old. I've a couple of them left over from my son's pre-potty-training days. They are simply the very best polishing clothes one can find. I use them on my guitars, on knives, on my motorcycle... anything needing a good soft polishing cloth! As long as you keep them clean, washing between uses, they last forever, and just get softer and softer! Now his kids are breaking in the next generation of polishing clothes for the both of us to use for the next 30 years!

I've heard good things about Sunshine Polishing Cloths. I just ordered one myself after reading about several people liking them. It is a jewelers cloth. You can get them on the big auction site for around $6 shipped. I have been using Nevrdull for years too & it works good on metal surfaces especially brass & copper etc. It's under $5 at Walmart & comes in a little silver tin in the automotive section by the Mothers Polish & what not.

If you are using polishing paste a good microfiber cloth will work just fine. I have used the miracle cloth to clean didscolored/tarnished metals for years and it is a great product.

+1 on the Miracle Cloth. Great for kitchen knives for it removes onion, meat, lemon and all the hard to remove surface tarnish. Great product!

If you want to go old school, google blitz cloth. You should find the for $7 or $8 in lots of places.
