I have always wanted a small portable fan for my shop, to keep dust, fumes and stuff away from me while I’m working. This Ryobi was just the ticket, it’s a hybrid in that you can use the included power cord or a Ryobi battery making truly portable. When using the battery you don't have to have the power cord attached, it unplugs from the fan.

I picked this up at HomeDepot.

The lowest setting is really whisper quiet as they advertise you don’t hardly hear it running at all but you get a good breeze from it.

Two thumbs up for this guy

That's the upgraded version of what I have. Great for hurricane related power outages and working outside when the heat index is 100+. I wish mine had the whisper tech.

It's really worth it, at the table just a foot away, no noise at all, very cool...pun intended ;)

I have one from Milwaukee. No complaints, but it is not silent. I like that it has a cord or can use a battery.

Milwaukee is a very good brand and I have their drill and impact drill motors and they work great.
It’s not very economical to have two different battery platforms so I know people might not want to get something outside of what they are using.
On the Ryobi side I have several tools
Pin nailer
Orbital Sander
Router
Small vacuum
Tire inflator
Portable Fan

I’m not a full time contractor just a home owner so these are not used every day but when I do use them they work very good

Agreed on all counts. Good enough for all I do and they all use the same batteries.

Nice! You've probably noticed in my pictures that I often have my DeWalt fan outside with me while throwing the ball to the dog, flicking knives, and reading my eBooks. My batteries also power our Sawzall-like saw, Hand Drill, Shop Vac and Air Compressor.

I have one that runs off my cordless drill batteries. Absolutely love it. I use mine not just for keeping cool but also for mitigating breathing hazards like when soldering with lead or using epoxy. I set it up to my side blowing across my work piece away from me. But priceless when your sweating to death and there's no other options
