I'm close to finishing up this project, it a forged nicholson file with etched blade, wrought iron fixtures and copper pins and scrimshaw. Also did some fancy file work on the crown, hard to see in the pics. Cooking up a sheath!* I need John Cohea's new DVD for insperation.

That's really nice Steve.
Is it solely your design or patterned after a historic piece?

And Wow, what great possibilities this leaves for an outstanding
primitive sheath.
Really like your drawings. Wish more makers/designer would would post up
their drawings. Very interesting seeing how maker "get to" the final design.

That is a really captivating piece. The guard is very different - and very appealing. Really nice work.

Very nice Steve, and I find the guard very interesting as well. BTW, I know where you can get a copy of the video:D

Thanks for all the kind comments!

Kevin, the inspiration for the finger guard comes from a piece from MS Fred Ott, other than that its my design. I will add a copper pin at the center of the file work.

John, I figured you would give me a hint!

A pic of the crown.
