Power interrupt switch

I have a small evenheat kiln that I would like to install a PIS to the door to interrupt power to the heating elements when the door is open. I have searched google but am still not sure what will suit my needs. Thanks.

Probably not if it's a DPDT. You'd probably be looking for a SPST contact type.

EDIT: I guess it could work, but DPDTs are probably more expensive than SPSTs.

You need SPST (single pole single throw) to place inline and break the connection when not pushed in.

How hot does the outside of the oven get?

Frank,
I am sure you have figured it out, but the switch is installed in the control wire from the PID to the SSR. It will only be carrying low voltage and low current that way.
Any spst/NO switch ,or SPDT, will work, but a microswitch with a roller arm will work the best.
