I'm not sure where this belongs but the original thread started here so I thought this was an appropriate to post this.

Here's a link to the original thread for those who want to read the history of this sad story.September 11th memorial knife.

Well folks I brought this thread back to the top for a little closure.

Mary the Fiance of Jim Romito, passed away last night at 8:00pm eastern time.

She never really recovered from the loss of Jim, and that coupled with a body riddled with cancer finally took it's toll.

Her family was around her when she passed onto the other side, she lapsed into a coma tuesday morning and never regained consciousness.

I've known Mary and her family since I was 7 years old(I'm 45 now), I was her brothers best friend, and best man at his wedding(his wife passed away last year from a blood clot(possibly from surgery complications).

Mary became involved in many charities after Jim's death on September 11th, she was helping the homeless, orphans, and the surviving families of the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11th, she was a kind hearted woman who would take in families and find work for them wheter it was out in the work world or she would pay them to help her with her charity work and around the house.

It's so sad when something like this happens, people say things like it's Gods will, at least she's not suffering anymore, or even she's with her parents and Jim now.

You know what it doesn't make it any easier for her son, family and friends left behind.

I was designated disseminator of information so I thought after the long night of making call all across the country I wanted to let you folks know the final chapter, especially those of you who donated time and materials, and even support by way of posts or money for the knife and plaque that were made in memory of Jim.

I'm very tired and don't know what else to say except thanks to all of you kind people on the forums who took the time to read my ramblings and in the course of your day maybe you can say a prayer for Mary, her son Bobby, and the rest of her family and friends, they can use all the help they can get to see them through the upcomming days, and weeks ahead of them.

I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. Hang in there my friend.

Thanks Michael, it's been a long road for them, and I really feel for her son, he's been in a tug of war custody battle with real mom and dad, and now he's with the dad after hearing all the things his mom said while her mind was ravaged with pain from the cancer and the narcotics used to treat the pain, he's confused and doesn't know what to think.

Words just aren't adequate at times such as these........just be there for those whose needs are apparent and remember to take care of yourself as well; rest is especially important during times of stress. May God be with you. :)
