When recieved,it would not open easily like my old Aegis'.
It is supposed to be an assisted opening knife but the only way I could get the blade open was to hold it and pull it open like my old Boy Scout knife.
Trying to call the distributor (GSM) was impossible (I was on hold for 25 minutes). 😬
I then called Blade HQ, where I had bought it, and got through in about 1 minute and was quickly given a return shipping label :)

It's good that Blade HQ is taking care of it. SOG probably won't in any way shape or form. Only company I refuse to look at because of issues i had with two different models of Trident folders. I hope they fix it for you. Good luck

I had the same problem with both the Aegis AT and Flash AT. The Flash II that I bought over 10 years ago opened and closed very smoothly, but the AT models are a real pain in the thumb. I returned two of them, but the replacements were no better. After getting a blister on my thumb, I switched to Spyderco models with compression locks.

Generally, your first contact should always be the dealer. They're the ones that got your money. Some try to deflect to the maker, but that's just crappy CS.

They had the SOG Seal XR on sale for christmas for 119.00 i had one already pretty good knife, the one i got from them was impossible to flip open; its almost as if the black coating they use was too thick in the bar lock and the cut out where it goes into and it felt like it was locked closed.I even sent a video to a friend, he saw the tension in my hand from trying to use the flipper with my hand. I t was real bad. I returned it for a refund.

SOG still has references to their "lifetime warranty" on their site. It seems like they haven't been able to honor it since GSM, if not before.

SOG is garbage. More so now than before. Just my personal opinion based on my personal experience. And that experience is from before the buyout by GSM. I've had two separate Trident folders catastrophically fail. One disintegrated in my hand while using it and one lock failed and closed on me.

Like many have said they were disinterested in doing anything. I sent email after email and nothing. The one person I talked to told me to return them to the retailer. I'm glad it worked out for you but for me the company is dead.
