When it comes to the pronunciation of the name Bowie, does one trust Scots (where the surname originates) and Texans, or does one trust the English where they have their own (made-up) variations of pronunciation?

Though the Scots and Texans pronounce it the same, I'll defer to the Scots. They had the name before the Texans did - buidhe.
