Hey everyone, I saw some pictures of protech autos and I’m leaning toward the Strider model pictured here. All my auto experience has been with benchmade AFOs and Stryker, so how would this compare? Any owners out there care to share details about their thoughts on this knife?
Thanks

I thought you gave a bunch of advice on the opening and closing of an ultratech the other day in the auto section, perhaps in your experience you are excluding OTFs.

Anyway, Prot-tech is a big contender for THE out the side auto company, so no problems there. The only issue would be if you like the style of Strider knives (personally don't care for the double finger/sharpening choil thingy) and if you don't mind giving a bit of your money over to a stolen valor scumbag. I know I have an issue with that. Sold a couple knives I loved, once I found out about Strider. They were colabs like this pro-tech.

Gonna get a lot of people here that will stay away from strider even more so than covid-19.... that is not an exaggeration. But spend your money as you please.

Any comments on the actual knife and it’s performance/function? I’ve heard protech has a solid knife manufacturing rep so I’d like some feedback on the blade itself.

Very high quality and fairly authentic to the overall feel of a SnG. Mine has been great. I prefer the texture of my Protech/Strider PT, LOVE the OD green though.

Blade stock on the ProTech is thinner than the Strider-made manual SNG. Depending on use, that can be good or bad. You're definitely not going to have the same issues with quality that Strider got a reputation for.

Well I just had my calmigo come in today.. pretty snappy little bugger. If the bigger guys snap this well I think I’ll be yelling “take my money”.

Thanks. And yes, some just aren't brave enough to carry a knife with a big silver skull in the handle. It takes guts! :D

I think you must have missed my first reply to you in this thread. It's the second post.

Oops! You must’ve got to my post too fast! I missed it!

I have a couple of ProTech pieces.

I was looking at a Strider PT automatic, but chose the Runt instead.

The Runt has just as much usable blade edge as the PT due to the weird two-choil Strider design, and it's a lighter, smaller carry.

ProTech gets it right when they put an auto together.
