PSK knife

I am committed to putting together some PSK's to be auctioned off to benefit local Scouting.

The pouch, as it turns out, will be the M16 triple magazine pouch. Reasonable size - tough - economical. The main compartment has a snap closure and the open spaces on the outside for grenades can hold plastic bags secured by cordage.

Now for the PSK knife.

I was hoping for a PSK-sized fixed-blade.

Don't want junk even though its - hopefully -- a back-up item..

Custom PSK knives I have found via Google and searching here are reasonably priced for the work put into them BUT out of budget.

There is this: http://www.instructables.com/id/Small-Survival-Knife/

I am looking into karda's, the accessory knife that comes with the traditional khukuri - 5160 steel and designed over the years my people who ( !! ) actually use them.

Input appreciated.

Either would fit the pouch (max depth = 5"; dimension on diaginal - 6")

Modest stainless steels (5Cr15MoV and 420HC)

$16-21.

(Smidgen also available in S30V for $25 or so.)

I agree on the Mora if it fits. I'm not so sure it would, in which case the CKRT Minimalist. Amazingly comfortable in hand for a blade that size.

I am kind of thinking a couple like this. 5" oal.

Anyone familiar with the A.G. Russell Woodswalker?

I have a couple of Woodswalkers and they are very well suited for a small PSK. Good ergos in a small knife and I believe the AUS8 is done about as good as it can be. I haven't found a better bang for the buck in a small PSK knife. I have some Bark River PSK's and they are nice but they are also 4-5x as much as the Woodstalker. The Buck Smidgeon is practically useless in my sausage fingers. The design and ergos of the CRKT Folts Minimalist are great but whey made mine they must have messed up and used butter knife steel so I can't recommend it. Svord is coming out with a small peasant knife that should be a good size for a small PSK. It's not a fixed blade but if it is anything like its big brother it will be good and cheap.

Yea that will do pitdog lol. I am waiting to find out if Thomas si going to give me the go ahead to make a couple of
the clip points and then a few of the ones you posted. Or if he just wants 5 of one design.

I am hoping for both designs lol.

Bryan,
Awesome lil PSK's. They all look so useful.

Pit, that sheath set up is way neat. A little survival system unto itself.

I like what I see here.
