Puronvarsi puukko blades, any good?

Love rhombic puukkos and was going to order a blade to make one ,Puronvarsi is the maker Im interested in.Any experience brand and Im ordering from Brisa Finland.

Really excellent blades,little tricky to fit bolster due rhombic shape and rough finish of tang,still well worth the trouble.

how is the edge holding and cutting ability of these blades?

These are very different blades to handle. I have Great respect for these blades both in edge holding and cutting ability. I always wrap them in cardboard and lots of tape while I'm assembling the knife, these things BITE, HARD and Deep.:D

glued with epoxy and pined with silver wire,(i had two small pieces of mammoth ivory so i have to squeeze them between two reindeer antler rings).

upper three are made by old bladesmith Yrjo Puronvarsi,and blue one by his grandson Antti.
 
Love the blade's shapes. I'd love to build a smaller one shaped similarly to that blue one, with stacked birch bark and stainless or nickel silver caps.
 
Very good blades. I'd personally contact Antti directly instead of buying from a retailler, he hasn't the best english, but good enough.

Puukko blades are in 1070 tempered to 60 HRC. I've found them to hold edge just a hair less O1 in same hardness and grind, due to the lower C content, but it's noticable only if you have two knives to test side by side.
They're slightly hollow grinded with a tiny convexed edge. Don't let the smoothness of the edge fool you, they really bite.

They're two different things both in section and in grind. You'll feel a new style of bite with the rhombic section and if you carve often you won't probably come back from it.
