Thanks Bubba, she's a forged 1084 hidden tang fortunately the HT came out great she holds an edge and cuts like a dream. I went out the other day and hacked on a bit of Oak and she was still shaving sharp. Your Blackwood of course, some aluminum I had laying around and my Pennsyltucky Cherry burl. I'm putting about 2 bajillion coats of Danish oil and gonna buff the blade a little more.

That's a piece of junk I had lying around, this is a cutting board I finished up today, doing this for a buddy's wife Christmas present, also has a matching cheese board to go with it. Just wiped it down with water to raise the grain.
