For some odd reason, I want one.

I'd however like to try to avoid Cold Steel because their sheaths just dull everything.

If nothing else fills the bill, I'll just go ahead and buy fully serrated Cold Steel to minimize dulling effect.

Any reccomendations? 😄

Benchmade 175BK in 440C.

I went thru the "push blade" phase too.

Had 2 or 3 of them but sold them when I admitted to myself that their usefulness was pretty limited and they couldn't do what any other knife w/a point on it could do.

The only "push blade" that I've considered buying since was a Bastinelli "Ice Scream" which comes w/a nice kydex sheath for around $150. :)

But you could more buy one of these for just a few bucks that you can carry in your pocket w/a cork stuck in the pointy end.

I haven't given in to the impluse to buy/carry either one yet. LOL! ;)

I picked this up a while back, it looked like a relaxing weekend cleanup job. Just haven't found a weekend I can relax in yet.

Don't think I'll have a whole lot of cause to carry it, but who doesn't need a quality union ice pick from Oakland, CA?

Perhaps you should check in with some makers on this board before you decide a custom is too expensive. I'm confident you could purchase a custom here for less than the cost of a Benchmade.
I'm in Europe... otherwise I'd probs already purchase small EDC fixed blade from here

the cold steel ones really are the best ones for the price if you ask me, the safe maker 1 and 2 and also the urban edge are really well made and very affordable

Honesty for the money involved, I'd buy one of the Cold Steels (Safe Maker), and figure out something for the sheath. Push daggers are one of the things Cold Steel does well (minus the Chaos model ;)).

Yeah, sheath is biggest issues for me with Cold Steel...

the sheath shouldnt matter too much for a push dagger, its not a utility knife and you really wont need to take it out of the sheath very often if you are actually carrying it for its intended purpose

I know you already mentioned trying to avoid the Cold Steel Push Daggers because of their glass filled polymer sheaths that are known to be unfriendly to a knife's sharpness.

With that said, if you do at some point change your mind on the Cold Steel offerings, I would recommend taking a look at their Drop Forged model.
I believe it can be had in the 55 to 65 dollar range, and your getting a product that is built like a tank!
Maybe a nice leather or kydex sheath can be found ready made on the secondary market and the cost not be prohibitive.
I also believe the Drop Forged model would be great for someone looking for a push dagger that's a great solid foundation for modifications/customizing.

I don't know if you're aware of this LostCause, or if you care, but I just thought I'd mention that the double-edged/dagger style Cold Steel push daggers are only ground on one side. In pictures online the double-edge ground side is often the only side shown, including on the Cold Steel website. I imagine it comes as a bit of a surprise when people who don't know this unbox their CS push dagger for the first time.

It's the same with the CS Counter Tac series (only ground on one side). And that is the reason I never bought a Counter Tac.

Here is a pic of the "opposite" side of the CS double-edged push daggers. My understanding is that this side is ground slightly concave.

Look at the RMJ Tactical Reaver (discontinued but still findable) or the Dragonfly (kind of small but one of the few push daggers I’ve seen you could EDC and use for utility without looking like an absolute clown).
