I have a Mossberg 500 with the 18 1/2" barrel and would like to attach my Surefire tan G2 on the the Mossberg and would like to know what you guys use to do that. And my Mossberg is the standard model with the 28" barrel and I've just installed the shorter barrel on there.

several companies offer a kinda double clamp thing that clamps the lite on one end and the bbl on the other, they work ok i suppose, cheaperthandirt.com has them, ya might have to add a pigtail end cap for it to work right though, i had a setup like that on my 500 for a while, eventually got a surefire forend which imho works better.

yes it works better but is also several hundred dollars although they are really sweet though.

those both look great, i wouldnt buy anything from botac though, they suck, i like the rail mount though, am sure someone has it other than botac.

Do you have a sidesaddle for spare ammo on your Mossberg? If so you might consider a mount that will us it instead of mounting on the barrel.

That is what I used to use
It was about the size of a mini MagLite
You get the cap with the leads and hook up a "momentary" switch pad
The cord kinda gets in the way, I thought
There may be a better way to route the cord

It looks like this===>

It's a poormans version of a SureFire setup
You can get Krypton bulbs to make it brighter

But..They drain the batteries faster....

FWIW a radiator hose clamp will work better than tape of course its hell on the finish lol.

This pic really caught my attention. All it needs is the speakers and chrome to become the next big thing in Ghetto blasters.

Sorry about the pun, it is easy to forget that a pistol can be used in one hand and the light in the other. When it comes to shotguns it becomes a bit more of an issue. I used to have a mix of thin foam from a hiking mat around the torch and duct tape. Cable ties used to shift.
