Question: Elephant toenails, sunfish, etc.

After a few months of studying various patterns, this one still doesn't seem to make sense to me for some reason. I actually own one, but it's been put away since I received it as it's a very specific one that I wanted for my collection. Even after looking it over and "fiddling" with it... I couldn't come up with a reason (or advantage) to opt for it instead some other patterns.

Please educate me -- What is the intended/best use for this pattern?

One "advantage" is because of their shape and size, they don't turn sideways in the bottom of your pocket, or "print" in your pocket, even if wearing a thin suit pants/trousers.

The GEC 36 is the only GEC that I have multiple copies of. I absolutely love it. Because of the blade height it cuts very well (think Salami, cheese, bread, etc.). And the straight edge is great for box opening, etc. And it’s comfortable to use with large hands.

Simply put… it’s just a beast of a knife that can put in serious work. Fills out the hand really well, super strong backspring, and its weight helps it fly through everything. Whenever I have ‘real work’ to do I break out the elephant.
