Hi,

I haven't purchased SOG before but I've decided its time and i'm very keen to pick up a SOG Flash II with a PE Tanto blade.
Now my question is simply this (as I can't seem to find the info elsewhere); is the Flash II Tanto in PE ground on both sides. I don't know SOG's policies so this may be a dumb question but I have purchased at least one Boker to find the grind is single sided chisel grind which i'm sure has applications but which I simply don't like in my knives.
Can anyone who knows and/or owns the Tanto model fill me in, and if you want to give your opinions please fill me in, i'd love to know what your experience has been like with this knife.

Cheers people :)

i own a SOG Flash II tanto its a pretty good knife and its ground on both sides, and it can get WICKED sharp. holds good edge and is strong only problem i have is partial blade play. since its has the SOG Assisted Technology after using it a while it tends to get lose at the pivot point, now the what SUPER sucks about it is as i was tightening it i ended up grinding the teeth off of the screw, i dont know if it was operator error, OR if the screw is badly made? so now ive got a knife with blade play that i cant tighten SOG has a decent warranty so i plan on sending it in to get fixed other than that its a great knife.

Thanks Goodspeed, appreciate your input. I have noticed a few comment here and there about screw hole thread stripping and I guess maybe that's an issue with unlined blades? But then a good robust warrenty policy goes a long way to calming any fears. Hopefully that's the case because I've really fallen for the look and function of the Flash 2 Tanto. Also very good to know it's ground on both sides. Cheers again.

I have a flash II regular blade 1/2 serrated and it is a good blade. Mine has seemed to work looser and looser as far as side to side blade play goes but its not enough to bother me. Great overall shape and it takes a wicked edge without much effort.

no problem bro! SOG makes good quality knives. if you have a chance you should check out a SOG X-ray i with the arc lock, i own the mini version its an outstanding knife, vg-10 zytel good stuff!

screw threads, or the screw head, I'd think that the head would strip first as all my SOG seen to be a chicago screw style pivot. just to clarify. I have the trident, and ever now and then it needs a tweek, just the slightest, its a narrow window it seems, but then you can adjust to taste, and if you need it to be "slow" that could be done easily as well
