Questions about Byrd Raven 2

I had recently ordered a Byrd Raven 2 as a starting point into folding knives and knives in general. After getting the knife and having it in my hands, I've noticed 2 things about it that seem a bit worrisome to my untrained eyes. I'm considering returning the knife in question but wanted to first check and see if my concerns are really justified.

1. There's an uneven area of metal running along the edge of the knife that's lighter in color, it's hard to see in the photo but more apparent in person.

2. The lock on the knife needs a lot of force to push down. I don't really have anything to compare this to but I'm rather wary of it because this knife is actually a replacement for a 1st Raven that I returned. The lock on the first knife would get stuck in the open position, I needed both hands to push the lock down and I could clearly hear the metal-to-metal grinding. I do wonder if this is part of an breaking-in process.

Please let me know if it's just paranoia, if I lost the QC lottery, or if I should just try an altogether different knife.

I'm trying to learn more about knives and any technical information about whether any of these things are or aren't actual issues would very welcome as well!

Thanks!

color is often only grinding or polishing heat, normally no problem, and every liner or any other lock mechanism needs lube, such as a dab of grease on bearing areas.

Of course, one also gets what one pays for. And often, far less, even on more expensive knives.

Thanks for the insight, really helps put my worries to rest.
