I have noticed that some seem to have the full microtech logo and some only have the claw image. - Why is that?

it depends on if theyre hand ground or machineground if im not mistakin. dont know which is which tho

i think claw is mostly handground , IIRC, but i'm not sure all claw logo are HG, try microholics.org they would know.

AFAIK claw logo means limited edition, dagger logo means hand ground, MT logo means serial version.

some special handgrounds have the claw logo too, so this logic doesnt always seem to work!

I would say as a rule the claw logo means a special run of sorts- although ALL Ultratechs have/had it.

so that doesnt really work either!

do your homework, first

are you looking at a particular piece?

I have a mini socom (newer, plain, urban) with the claw logo. What is ultratech and afaik? Also, would you say this makes the knife worth more, or just more desireable? Thanks

Years ago it meant that it was a special run, but lately I think they just do it when they feel like it. That is crazy logic but I don't know the real answer. I think it just depends on if the knife is a departure from the regular run. Like if you get a Mini Socom Elite that is plain it will have the regular logo, however if it is a camo one or a handground then it will have claw. Doesn't make it more expensive per-se, just different than the norm.

ultratech is an otf (out the front) automatic knife that opens & closes with spring tension.

afaik-as far as I know

I have no clue as to the knife's value
