The maple wood on the R knife is stabilized. Injected with resins, so it's impervious to most everything. Don't even finish it, just fine sand and polish it. Won't take oil or any finish.

I left it kind of hand filling so it would be suitable for large hands or it can be filed down to fit easily.

I did shorten the handle a bit less than an inch. Seemed to look and balance better.

Enjoy.

EMS for the shawl. It feels weird to be buying so many shawls/bags on a blade forum, but I really think my wife/family are going to love em for Xmas!

Jee Bawanna, this checkering is chessmaster level.:thumbsup:
Having that made alone worth more than $75!

That R knife is masterful! Fantastic work by two of my favorite craftsmen:)

I took the R knife. The handle is gorgeous - thanks Bawanna. Blade by Latchu (not Kumar), but still very nice. Handle is nice and chunky which fits pretty well in my hand. I always felt the R knife handle was a bit too long even for the larger western hand. My other R knife (same type) has a full inch of handle beyond what I can wrap in my fingers. This choked-down Bawanna mod looks like it will be pretty handy.

I don't recall, Yangdu says it's a Lachu. Looks like snowwolf grabbed this one but she may have others.
If you want checkering, I know a guy that knows a guy that can do that.

Oh it does look like snow wolf got that JKM.

Snow wolf you can confirm if Im right on my Kumar guess....
