Rambo first blood pt2

Iirc Jimmy Lyle designed these knives and later gave United Cutlery the O.K. to produce them is cheaper materials. From what i read a jimmy Lyle original is pretty expensive and not a knife you use to stab and hack at backyard wood with. Some serious collectors, and Stallone himself, have originals from Lyle.
I don't own an original or a copy.

nope, can't say i would have.
though understandably,
these cult 80's knives are now firmly in the relm of being considered as near ageless conversation pieces
which would no doubt cause the uninitiated and unfamiliar to react
with classic horror or absolute fascination.
that's quite an achievement for a classic movie fantasy knife...

I don't own one, but I like the concept. I just don't like round handles on knives so much. I'd like to make a version of it myself some time.

Rambo knives probably sparked millions of blade collectors around the world, i don't own United Cutlery,,,but Master Cutlery Rambo 3 version,however from overall feel of it-it's only an expensive wall hanger,considering it's price tag touching proper premium blades category...

Also there is information out there made by those who had a chance to compare United to Master versions saying United is officially licenced by Gil Hibben and thus their replicas of Rambo 3 are smaller but made to higher quality standard when it comes to fit and finish...

Would love to have original one made by Master Knifemaker Hibben himself or original genuine Mr Lile versions of earlier Rambo versions ...Unfortunately these costs couple of thousands bucks 😏

It always sort of bothered me he jumped from 1 knife to another in each movie. It just doesn’t ring true.

Even so i always wanted to have the set on my wall.
 
The rumor was that Stallone aproached Randall but was told he had to wait like everyone else. So he went to Gil Hibben
 
The Jimmy Lile First Blood knife, like the earlier Cooper Iron Mistress Bowie had a huge impact on the industry. They were well made knives, but the huge guards, the round handles, and especially the sawteeth made them fairly impractical. The First Blood knife was designed to be a movie star and that is still what it does best.

Rambo movie knives are undisputed ones of most "sexy" knives out there - i found first 3 movies some of most beautiful designs (J.Lile & G.Hibben ) along with J.Crain Predator machete with Commando movie knives .... These knife designers were just simply ones of most talented people in knife industry...visual appearance of these are up to date for me mind-blowing designs (not talking practicality)
