Yep, crazy "Fall" this year... Here in the SW corner of Denver, we've had 7" of snow twice already (Wednesday night most recently), and already hit 15º one night (and several nights in the 20's).

Today was beautiful, mid 70's and sunny. However...

We're possibly getting 1/10" of ice tonight, followed by 1-3" of snow tomorrow, 5-9" Monday, and another 1-3" Tuesday into Wednesday morning. Temps the next 4 days? 29º/11º tomorrow, 29º/9º Monday, and 22º/3º Tuesday and Wednesday!!! Lol!

We had 7" of snow as of this morning (a little ice and a couple inches yesterday), barely into the 30's today. Here's the forecast:

This will be the THIRD winter storm, the fourth snow so far! Below ZERO temps! What the heck???

I recall reading a season forecast for a harsh winter, but that's ridiculous.

RESEARCH GRAND SOLAR MINIMUM

Yes Timmy, I know all about it. I'm in aerospace, and have a good friend that works at the Pink Palace up at NCAR here in CO.

The problem is we can't determine that's happening AS it is happening. Generally we need to be able to look back at the data from a good distance in the future to see where the grand minimum occurred. Yes, we're into a 11-year minimum, that isn't really disputed. However, while it might look like we're entering a grand minimum (not everyone agrees on this), that could easily change with even a slight rise in activity. Totally unpredictable...

@Casinostocks, thanks for the links! Several people involved in giving me some guidance on these, and so happy to have this board to lead me.

Pulled the trigger on dying some unbuffed natural micarta today. The grip stayed the same, but the color speaks to me a lot more now. I've got a bunch of pictures of the process. If you're looking to do it, hit me up. Couldn't be happier with the results and the ease of the project. I kinda wish I'd left a little black out, but finding a color is tough. Once you're in, you're in. No turning back!

Those look great, well done.

I made it a point to sneak throw paper airplanes off the sears tower in Chicago and got one off the Empire State Building b4 being chastised by a guard and told about potential fines. The old fart even had audacity to pull that”you could put somebody’s eye out falling from here!” Told him he sounded like my mom, he gave me the stink eye and then started laughing. FYI, I’m 64 years young.
