The choice ought not to be a very hard one, for now go for a Kephart. Allow me to elaborate:

If you are fast enough or get a fast enough proxy, you can score one in ABEL as early as this Friday and probably have it in your hands in about less than a fortnight.

While UF2 has been incognito so far, I believe it being well into its development phase but Nathan has decided to keep it under wraps. Therefore the UF2 can still be several months out and even if manage to get one as a bellwether, it could be at the end of this year! To preorder one could even take longer when the books open.

Therefore my choice would be the former for now. If you don’t end up digging the Kephart, there will still be a robust demand for it by the time the UF2 gets into the wild because the Kephart is, according to Nathan, a limited production pattern.

Casinostocks Casinostocks interesting, you gave me some food for thought. While I don't mind waiting half a year or so for the new Utility Fighter, I am questioning myself if I need such a blade.
Question for a new knife should be: for what purpose you want to use it, not what knife you like.
While the Utility Fighter has a great amount of utility, it is a purposeful builded weapon is a first place.
Kephart is a classic utility/woods blade.
 
We got the DEK1 pre-order finished six weeks early. I'm going to drink a beer now. :thumbsup:

We'll get the Kepharts rolling really good and then start the next pre-order soon. Probably the new Utility Fighter 2. It's on a schedule due to a large customer order so we're already getting started on it.
