Rapid River Knives

Their website is pretty comprehensive. They don't seem to specify anything about the steel they use, though.

Alberta Ed, it appears the maker uses A2 and D2 steels. At least, that's what I picked up on in regards to his fixed blades. I'm not seeing what is specified for the folders, however.

Last year I was on a business trip traveling through Michigan and stopped into the rapid river shop. I met Chris, the owner. He is a very nice guy and an avid outdoorsman and hunter. There were a lot of exotic trophy animal mounts in the shop including a lion. The knives were very nice, and pricing was good considering the high quality of workmanship. Most knives were hand forged by one of the 5 or 6 blade smiths working there. Most of the blades were made from high carbon tool steels.
