Up for sale is a very rare Benchmade Kuma Zume PROTOTYPE push dagger. The Kuma Zume (Japanese for "Bear Claw") is considered to be one of the best push daggers ever made. It was a very limited Benchmade run--only sold in part of 1996--and does not appear in any catalogs. It is one of the rarest Benchmades to come across.
This is a rare PROTOTYPE of the Kuma Zume dagger. It has some noticeable differences with the production version.
1) The production version used harder texturized rubber for the handle whereas this uses a smoother rubber.
2) The production version was stamped "Steve Schwarzer Design" on the handle whereas this one has no stamp.
3) The production version has a different bump pattern on the rubber handle. This one has extra "bumps" extending closer to the edge of the handle.
This knife is in excellent condition, extremely sharp, with the usual scratch marks from having been taken in and out of the sheath.
Asking $175 shipped insured, but will consider best offer. Thanks!
