Hi all, I just saw a picture of one his knives and I just gotta get one, How do I get a hold of Mr. Laconico to purchase one of his fine Knives?
thanks Sammtv

I too am a huge fan of Ray's knives. Wait for a knife to appear on the Exchange or wait for Ray to post one on the Makers For Sale forum. You won't be sorry.

Go to his profile on the forum and send him an e-mail.

I'm lucky enough to live a couple miles from him, so I can visit him. He's a great guy and makes outstanding knives.

I saw one of his bowies a couple months back and posted on the thread itself, but then followed up with an email from his profile. He makes some of the cleanest knives I've seen. Even though I don't have the bowie yet, but coming soon, the pics were enough to sale me and tell me it was a nice piece!

He can be contacted at raylaconico at aol.com (replace "at" with "@"). You won't be sorry!

I don't own one of his knives, but every one I see really strikes me as well thought out. Nice clean lines. Good handle shapes, etc.

Clean lines is right. I have visited him several times, and each time I was able to handle a few different knives, of a wide variety of designs. And they all had one thing in common - clean lines, outstanding grinds. I had him make this one to my specifications:

Lambertiana - That's a great looking knife. What's the steel? I have one of Ray's knives, camp knife type in O-1. Excellent fit and finish and it feels very good in the hand. Wouldn't mind something along the lines of your there.

Thanks to all for the nice words about my knives. Steelhed, the knife that lambertiana has is O1 with a full distal taper that goes to a very thin edge.

I have quite a few of Ray's knives. I have purchased several from the "for sale" forum, and have also had a few custom made.

Ray's work will NOT disappoint. When Ray makes a knife, it is every inch a knife with purpose. They are very functional with a simplicity that is elegant.

Here's a pic of my pride and joy from Ray... he made me a special order Hollow Handle survival knife.

Ray is one of the best people I have met on this forum... he loves what he does and he is a hell of a nice guy as well. We both share a fascination for the Rambo flicks and hollow handles.

Thanks Ray! I hope there will be many more survival knives in our future. ;)

I would like to add my 2 cents that Ray makes great knives. I have had my first one I just purchased from him for less than an hour and I can't stop messing with it. Its amazing to me that something as thick as this knife is able to be so freakin sharp at the same time. I am honestly considering which higher priced knives I should get rid of because this one feels better, looks better and has a better edge profile than knives I have paid 3 times as much for. AWESOME job Ray, I love this knife.

How is this one constructed?

Ray, would you mind posting pictures of some of your patterns. I'd love to see a bunch side by side (and then order one or two). Thanks.
