I made this last night from broken knife blank that I messed up when I first started trying to make knives. It was supposedly already heat treated. Will it be hard enough as is? The reason I ask is that it seemed to be quite easy to shape with the angle grinder.

It helps to know what the steel is and who made it. Import blades can be less than advertised. Angle grinders can take things off rather quickly regardless of hardness, especially in really thin sections.

Another question is did you over heat it with the angle grinder. If you got anywhere past a medium brown in heat color you have probably destroyed the heat treat, depending again on the steel.

Use it and see how it holds up. If it works you did good. If not, another lesson learned. There will be many of those.
