re sharpening in the feild

I've found that the 1095 sharpens really well with any smooth stone on the ground. I finish up with a couple of light touches on a small ceramic rod and I'm good to go.

Even on my convexed edged knives I carry a flat diamond hone and simply do a micro-bevel when it gets dull in the field. Works great.

Same exact thing I do. I use a DMT fine diamond hone. Quick and easy in a pinch. I have yet to convex an ESEE. Still deciding on the one knife to do it to.

If I'm hunting out of a base camp I bring my KME sharpener. I carry one of the rods from the Sharpmaker for my broadheads.
