For those of you that don't follow me on Instagram, I figured you may find pics of various reblade projects interesting, including some WIP shots here and there. All my blades are heat treated by Peter's.

Here's a couple from 2017

Benchmade Adamas with a new blade made from Cruwear at 61rc, features a compound grind (hollow rear for slicing ability, flat ground tip for strength), acid wash, and shredder thumb studs (just finished this one today!) My first fuller on my new milling machine!

Now you're making me wonder what the starting price for a reblade is. When I stop buying knives long enough to save money, I'm going to get a few mods from you, possibly a reblade and a nice bit of customization on my ZT 0456 to make it more knife and less brick.

If you ever would reblade a cold steel...
Ohh god the possibilities.
Imagine a rajah 2 or 3 in CPM 3V or CPM CRUWEAR.... ive fantasized about that idea since i got into good steels a long long time ago.
Exellent work man. Really kickass stuff!

Shoot me an email and I can get you some prices ;)

I've done one lockback so far, was a little tricky but doable. Cold steel's locks are a little different but I imagine it would be doable, at least some point in the near future - esp. now that I have a milling machine :)

Yea i may challenge you with that project some day. Ive always thought that would be an insane combo.

This is beyond cool, and drives my mind crazy with the possibilities.

So I guess you like trace out the pivot\bearing\lock portion of the original blade and then it's just blank slate from there forward?

Would do SAK blades as well (with proper donor blades provided to you)?

I don't mess with pinned construction sorry!! :(

Exactly

Darn it, Josh. How can I afford you? You have some dream stuff going there. Just thinking of some of the reblades that you could do for me...makes me dizzy. I sure wish I had thought about this BEFORE selling off my two CRK Classics. OUCH!
BTW, I've had a few queries about that AVO where you contoured the ti scales so beautifully... So I just dug up some old pics on posted them on the "GALLERY" section of BF. Never owned such a gorgeous knife before.
And yes, I'll soon post pics of my Survive Knife GSO 2.7 that you rebladed for me...I'm carrying it every day, but still testing in my own slow casual manner.

Here is my "Josh re-blade" story... (All's well that ends well.)
Late last year, I sent Josh my SurviveKnives GSO 2.7 fixed blade. It fits my hand well (love the G-10 grip), has a nice balance, but...I want my belt-knife to slice an apple and to efficiently handle other daily casual demands. I asked him to narrow the spine to about 3/32" , thin behind the edge, and ...additionally...to give me a high hollow-grind with spine jimping.
Well, that first attempt (with hollow grind) ended up too thin for practical use, so Josh bought a new piece of 3/32" CTS-XHP stock and copied the original Survive design. Hence, the reblade in full-flat grind.
The blade max spine width is 0.075" and 0.009" behind the edge. The blade is thin, but at a length of 2.7", it is still plenty "stout" to handle my casual cutting needs. I'm particularly happy with the spine jimping...which is missing on the factory sample.
I've carried the knife full-time, belted cross-draw, for three weeks, and it has performed admirably for my personal uses.
It certainly does slice an apple just fine...and I don't need a pry-bar.
Note the custom belt and matching custom sheath designed around my 2.7 GSO by Dave Ferry of Horsewright Leather and Tack . Dave produces a large line of great fixed blade knives as well as truly custom leather for personal use (holsters, sheathes) as well as a full line of "ranch" leather.

While I admire your grinding skills, I don't understand the multiple bevel grinds. They serve no purpose.

Thanks Bill! Actually they have a highly functional purpose, and if done right especially so. The rear portion is done with a higher hollow grind, smaller wheel which gives very very high cutting ability, and the forward portion is a lower height grind with a larger wheel (or it can be flat ground) which gives more strength for prying or lateral loads on the edge. With compound grinds you can also have 2 different edge thicknesses if you want even more strength on the forward portion.

But yes you are right, the other purpose is beauty/art =) I like to combine both art and function in all my work if possible.
