After locating a bunch of my old pocket knives in a forgotten drawer, I have to admit I've got some real beaters hanging around. Here are a few:
The Klein knife with the D ring (top left) is the only one in any working condition (and quickly becoming my new fave). The plastic grips on the Barlow somehow have swelled(?) or shifted, making it scratchy and annoying to use. The others, including the Ka Bar rigging knife (bottom left) have had some serious reshaping of the blades to the point the...uh, point of the blade on some actually sticks out above the handle when closed. I'll keep the rigging knife as is (I mainly use the marlin spike for knot work), but the rest I'd like to find some way to reuse or repurpose them.
Any ideas on how to go about this? As a side note, most of these came out of the basement where they had been slated for use as furniture scrapers. I had half a thought that some of the blades might find their way for fixed blade use, but the more I look at them the less I like what I'm seeing.
