Ordered, and today received a Red Rock Large Rover sling bag. Have the regular sized one, ( Review: https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/red-rock-rover-sling-bag-photo-heavy.855133/#post9681572 ) and recently discovered they made a larger model. A bit more room never hurts. They also make other model sling bags as well. The "regular" size Rover bag is 8"W x 12"H x 6"D, and the "large" bag I just received is 9"W x 15"H x 9"D. So, 13 liters, as compared to the the regulars 9 liters.

Other specs:

Ambidextrous shoulder strap
Quick-release buckle on main strap for rapid deployment
On-the-go style carry handle
Snap-closure concealed-carry sleeve on back panel
Two external pockets for quick access to items
Master compartment houses a slip pocket with touch-fastener closure
Master compartment accommodates an iPad or other popular tablets
MOLLE webbing platform on front and shoulder strap for adding pouches and gear
600D polyester construction

A few photos.

Out of the bag. Some of the photos were dark, so I had to lighten them up a bit, hence why the logos aren't showing up on the tags too well:

Front zippered pouch. Nice, deep pocket, but a bit unusual, in the sense that it goes down on each side of the drain hole, which is made for the pocket behind it:

Next compartment behind the last. Organizational area:

Small compartment above it. More organization:

Main area:

Sleeve for iPad, or the like:

Other side. A small zippered pouch/flap:

That lifts up to reveal another pouch:

Concealed carry pouch:

Although empty, beside the regular size Rover:

This is my older, smaller one, just for an idea of the size. I'm 6'2" for reference:

Hoping this will be a decent pack. I have had a few problems with the smaller pack. One of the webbing on the shoulder strap has come undone on one side, even though I've never used it for anything. Also, once I had a 38oz Guyot bottle filled with water, in the bottle carrier, slung the pack around to my back, and the strap came undone. The stitching, that is. My wife sewed it back on with military thread, and I haven't had any problems with it since. I have used the smaller version on several outings, and overall it's done well. Not Maxpedition quality by any means, but a 3rd the price.

Thanks for looking.

Good thoughts Warrior. Those Red Rocks remind me of a Drago I used to have. Just so you know, you make that sling pack look small. Like Mighty Mouse small! lol

I'm in the market for something bigger than my Falcon II, but smaller than my Osprey Atmos 65, which opens up tons of options! Not sure if I want to go with an uber-comfortable dedicated backpacker, or an overbuilt tactical pack. Somebody here was supposed to send me a Becker patrol pack to try out, but can't remember for the life of me, who it was!

Congrats on the new pack, looks like you'll swallow this one whole too...:D

Thanks man. I primarily bought this one for a small BOB to keep in my truck. I'll probably use it on some outings as well.

I liked Falcon II I had. Built like a tank, but you're right, it is a tad small.

Sling packs feel awkward to me. I had one and sold it the next day. I guess I carry too much junk in my packs. I'm thinking another Osprey with around 35L-40L would be ideal for us as good winter day packs that are lightweight. We'll be able to cover much more ground with lighter gear.

Took me awhile to adjust to the sling bag as well. There's a belt loop on the bottom, rear, so I figured lower, she's a better. I have the pack riding low on my back, where it touches my belt, and I don't mind it at all.

I have a Red Rock duffel that I use at work and I’ve really put it through the paces. It’s held up well after all I’ve put it through.
Their stuff seems to be decently made for the price.

Took the gear out of the regular bag, and put it in the new. Added a few items as well. Nice having the extra room:

Between Red rock , Drago,Condor and the other budget brands. Are they all about the same quality?
Never had the others. Have had a few Condor pouches that seemed to be decently made. Personally, I like the Maxpedition stuff, but it's a bit pricey for me. Built like a tank though, for sure.
