I was wondering if anyone wears Red Wing 11" pull-on boots, model 1132 in particular. I'm not sure I could ever work in anything other than a lace up boot, but I'm thinking that I might like a pair of pull-ons for around the house and casual wear. They would probably see a lot of use, but not hard use, mainly everything except work. I want something that will still offer support and protection. I'm 50 years old and don't need cutting edge fashion but do appreciate comfort. So, just interested in hearing whatever your personal experience is with the 1132s or other models. Thanks in advance!

Wore lace ups for years. Hurt my back bad enough at work, that I couldn't bend down to tie them. So I bought some pull ons and that's what I've been using since. No more wasted time tying my boots, or replacing broken laces. Keep my noggin shaved too so I don't have to waste time combing my hair. These 2 things alone have shaved at least 2 minutes off of my morning routine. More time to make knives! :)

They are the single most perfect pair of boots out there. Functional for any situation, go w everything, extremely comfortable. Durable. Change them out every 5 years cuz I want to, not cuz I have too. Pull the trigger.

I lace my boots loosely and tie knots in the ends of the laces. Instant pull-on boots.

If they fit well, they are very effective, I know quite a few guys who wear nothing but. But fit is key.

^^^^
That, with pull on, fit is everything. Red Wing usually dies a great job getting you the right size, so you should be fine. I wear irush setter (a sub company of red wing) marshal boots off work typically, and they are great, I never thought I'd get used to non-laced boots either.

The pull on (non-lace) boots do not have as much ankle support, but they are certainly handy. I wore a pair for a couple years (Red Wing hard toe) working outdoors. At the time, they were as "cowboy" as I felt comfortable going which I chuckle about these days because Wellington's aren't cowboy at all other than they are boots. Ultimately, I stopped wearing them because I had more comfortable and more supportive work boots.

I have had a pair of Redwing pull ons since 2005 and I still haven't destroyed them. I wore them every day for about 4 years and since then probably about 100 days a year. They have been covered with mud many, many times and I wear them at 40 below as well as 80 above. Best boots that I have ever owned. Keep in mind I work in the oilfield and they have been sujected to everything that entails.

I've worn redwing 1132's for years. My father and all my 7 uncles are tradesmen and everyone of them wear a redwing pull-on boot. I'm sure that's why I wear them. They are such a quality boot I always check the shoe section of thrift stores to see if a used pair snuck in. The ones I've bought used still lasted me years. As a matter of fact my current hunting boots are a pair of 1105's I bought used 7yrs ago and they are still going strong.

Thanks guys for all of your feedback! I went to Red Wing and got measured for my 1132s. They had to order them for me because they didn't stock any wide sizes in that model. I should have them soon, right to my door!

Bought a pair in November, '98 that I still wear today. These currently measure 12" tall . . . no idea what model number . . . it wore off long ago. But these have been and still are darn good boots. I have worn them only about half the time I could have . . . still prefer lace up boots for those days I'll be doing a lot of walking.

I've been approaching middle age so long now I doubt I'll ever wear them out . .
