Rei Flash 18 Backpack Review

Good review and I agree it's well made. I've used it as a day-hike pack and stuff sack in my full-size backpack. It's great for those day hikes from basecamp or scrambling around doing a little fly fishing. The daisy chains seem to hold up well...all I've used them for is running some shock-cord through and holding a rain jacket or fleece. All in all, a great, lightweight pack for those short trips be they backwoods or urban.

Now that's the photo I needed for the intro to my review! Thanks for watching.

This is my day hike/hunting/fishing and peak bagging pack. Works great, rated for about 20lbs. It replaced my old blown out 20L Mountain Hardware framless summit bag. I phoned Mountain Hardware to get my bag replaced(under their phoney "lifetime warranty" claim), and received a sullen ration of $hit from the bored and unhelpful warranty guy on their phone. I gave up, threw it in the trash and bought the REI brand pack.

Mine barely holds enough stuff for an day of Eastern Sierra upland bird hunting, partly because nowadays I often have to carry 5L of water for my Labs. I'd be doing well to drink 1/2L of all that water, all the rest goes for them.

This bag is really handy for shedding your layers into, as well as holding snacks and shot up birds.
