Reliant made in U.S.A.

About 10 years ago, I purchased a Reliant. It was made in the U.S.A., # 210. When I recently visited the Emerson website, noticed they are now made in Japan (for about $100 less than I paid for mine). Why did Emerson make this move?

Wish he would do that with the CQC8, then we would end up with better fit and finish.
