Remington knives by Camillus

Camillus made Remington knives from 1982 to closed its doors.
During this time it created many fine knives, but I did not find here any special topic for this.
Currently I have a few Remington knives by Camillus, but someday they will undoubtedly be more.

I recently purchased a Remington Millennium Bullet Knife R1123 (pattern 5754)
It has a Buffalo Horn handle with Mother of Pearl Bullet shield.

And Remington Limited Edition Musket-1 Knife

I'm not sure of the time frame, around 2000-2003, I think, Camillus made a limited edition, stag handled bowie knife using the Western W49 as a basis. According to the etching on the blade, only 2500 were made.

Overall shot with the sheath - standard Western Model 1968 dangler sheath, with a Remington logo stamped on it.

And a comparison shot of a contemporaneous Camillus Western W49 and the Camillus made Remington Stag Handled Bowie. Note how the Remington blade has small notches ground into the edges of the spine.


The Remington Bowie is about 1.5 inches longer overall that the W49. Lining up the guards, the difference is ONLY the amount that the stag knob sticks out. Otherwise the blade/guard lines up exactly.

Remington Large Stockman, 4 1/4 inches closed.

Noted differences:

The Remington has tumble polished blades; main blade has no swedge; smooth Delrin handles with three pins.

The Buck has satin polished blades; main blade with swedge on mark side; sawcut Delrin handles with one pin

The Camillus made Bullet knives sure seem much better made than the current issues. I've got one of the very first ones myself, the 1982. It's actually worth more $ than a fair example of the old Remington original. Hey, Vit, nice photos there. Being in Moscow, I assume you purchased them through ebay?

Now in Russia can buy any modern knife, but buy the old knives is very difficult. So I purchased all these knives through ebay.
