Bought a knife from a friend and noticed orange was poking through on edges of the handle, I asked him and he said he spray painted it black. And he did that to the hardware as well. Anyways, does anyone know how to remove the spray paint from the G10, and the hardware so I can rit dye it black? He suggested acetone, which might work but I’d rather get a majority vote lol.

Hi,
I'd try it as almost nothing seems to hurt these plastic composites
see about soaking for days in gasoline/acetone... https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/micarta-damage.407828/

update:
txgind.com/pdf/chemical-resistance-chart.pdf
CHEMICAL RESISTANCE
Two typical commercial chemicals at 75°F and 1000 hours continuous immersion
No Effect Benzol, Carbon Tetrachloride, Acetone, Mineral Spirits, Perclene, Gasoline, Askarol, Inerteen, Ethyl Alcohol

Citristrip or Kleanstrip.
Both are commonly used to strip the coating off blades - Becker, Esee, Busse + kin, etc; and they don't damage g10

Really? I’ve used citristrip plenty times, never even thought to use it on G10. Thanks man! I appreciate it.
