Replacement sheath for BK7?

I ordered a BK7 from Amazon last week and am pretty impressed by the blade so far. The sheath, however, is a completely different matter. Let's just say it's not... impressive. Can anyone recommend a decent replacement sheath? Ideally it wouldn't be overly expensive (I pushed the budget a bit with the BK7 given how irregular my use of it will be in the near future). I was looking at the Ka-Bar 1216 model for 7" knives, but it wasn't clear if a BK7 would fit or not.

PS I am not concerned about carrying the BK13 with it as well, so no need for a combo.

PPS The sheaths at On/Scene Tactical, though nice, are too high at $40 + S&H right now (though I've certainly got them bookmarked). If that had been my budget, I would have just pushed ahead for a Fallkniven A1.

I feel the same way you do about the KA-BAR sheaths (I've complained about them plenty). Ridge Knife Shop has some OK looking sheaths, but I'm not a fan of the Kydex belt loops. The Cold Steel UWK that I sold to buy my BK7 had a great SecureEx sheath that I wish I could have just transformed into a BK7 sheath. Kydex sheath with a nylon belt loop FTW! I've heard that some people like the Spec Ops sheath for the BK7 and even the BK9, but I would really like to see a video demonstrating how well (or poorly) it really fits.
 
On Scene Tactical makes an aftermarket sheath for it, and most other Becker models. I haven't heard a bad thing about them.

I also noticed the kydex sheath for the 7, but I wondered if the loop for the belt is too hign and make the handle of the knife too awkward or too high on the belt. I wish the kydx sheath had a nylon or webbing that would make the knife about the same spot as the regular sheath. I like the handle of the knife lower on the thigh.
 
Do you Kydex or Leather? Look in the sheath makers forum and you will see a list of sheathmakers. Heber Ellsworth is making me a leather sheath for my B2K with a firesteel loop and stone pouch that can be carried vertically and horizontally at a ver reasonable price.
 
I'd really like to see a leather sheath, like the option KaBar has for the USMC that you can buy seperately. I've been looking for a cheap one but I can't find any that would work, I just don't have $100+ to spend on a custom sheath, or anything else for that matter.
