Going through some bins in the workshop today I came across what I thought was an old Leatherman leather sheath. Turned out to be a PST II (date code 0903) that had been loooong forgotten about.
It had a bit of surface rust on the plier head and a little on the handle, and some circular green tarnish from where it was in contact with the snap inside the sheath.
It cleaned up really well and everything is firm but not tight, all the tools are in excellent shape and the main blade is still really sharp. You'd think it was nearly new!

Side note, my first Leatherman PST was purchased new in 1991 or 1992 from a Snap-On truck (I know $$$ Right?!) and I destroyed that one using it to cross starter solenoid terminals before I had an actual a remote starter switch (destroyed a fair amount of screwdrivers that way as well.)
My second PST was purchased after that and used for years but never abused. That one sadly went to the bottom of a lake while fishing in the late 90s.

I forgot I bought this PST II til now, but now I remember getting it at a Bass Pro Shops (aka Cabela's) around 2004 and apparently from the looks of it didn't use it much.
I've never owned any other multi-tool since and now I guess I don't need to buy one!

I just want to find a different sheath for carrying it, preferably nylon, like the one Leatherman used to sell.

thanks for sharing!
its a trip down memory lane whenever pst pops up in conversation.
even rarer the mention of pst ii ;-)
imo, the scissor bladetool was spot on.
but i didn't quite appreciate the serrations
on the main blade.
if it ever makes a come back, i would hope to see it fitted with a pocket clip.
i guess its an old ugly plain jane when compared to the funkier trendy styles.
however, even though the original pst/ii may be seen as somewhat dated
in design, its unobtrusive shape and dinensions makes it spot on
for ease of carry.
its thumbs up for pocketability.
this make it a charm for edc.
i wouldn't write it off entirely
as a bygone relic just yet,
because it works as advertised.
so here's to another 25 years of service :)
