This isn't much of a review since everyone already knows Maxpedition gear is top notch. But, when i was recently looking into different carry options for a small kit i couldnt find many real pictures of the Maxpedition waistpacks so it was hard to get a feel for its size and capabilities. So, this is my attempt to show it off incase anyone else might be interested in picking one up.
Overall its the perfect size for a survival kit or for EDC when outdoors. I put it all together to carry on short hikes when i don't need a backpack and when im mountain biking. I've found that its also fits in our diaper bag as a suppliment to my EDC.
To show its size.
Side is perfect for pens, Streamlight Stylus, sharpie, or in my case a small tube of sunblock.
The side sheath has an adjustable flap and is rather large, it can hold any mutlitool or folding knife. I carry a Victorinox Trekker & Fenix E11.
Small zippered pocket on the front flap.
Storm/water flap to keep as much water and dust out of the main compartment as possible. I added a small led light for going through it at night.
Front compartment is small and works best holding thinner objects like this mirror and 6ft of duct tape.
Compartment behind it is a little larger, but if you overload it the waistpack gets very bulky. I carry a small first aid kit here.
Main compartment. I put a paracord bracelet around the top to act as a handle.
As you can see the main compartment can hold a lot of stuff if you pack it right. I carry an Altoids tin, small fishing kit, whistle, 30ft of Kevlar cord, lighter, and a small Aloksak that holds an 8x11 Aloksak, emergency blanket, and water purification tablets.
The whole shebang to show what it can hold.
