I bought one of the Latama Yuuki flippers after a review on this forum. I'm comparing it to my Kershaw "mail/package opener" here. I've carried a little victorinox executive with scissors, nail file, and a tiny little knife on my key chain since 1987. I have never liked any of the pocket clip knives enough to edc. Work would frown on me having a fixed blade for edc. 4 or 5 years ago an old Army friend of mine sent me one of these Kershaw flippers for a Christmas present. He's a manager at a Big-5 store and they were on sale and dirt cheap combined with his discount I told him I really liked it so he sent me two more that are still in boxes. I like the kershaw for how quick the assisted opening is, but the ergonomics of the handle are atrocious, and the liner lock stinks. That said, it's been on my office desk for years to open packages and mail, and I love the flip opening.

A couple weeks ago user WValtakis posted a video review of the Latama Yuuki and I decided to try one. I like it and can see myself growing into everyday carrying this once it breaks in. Thinks I like: Ergonomics are very nice. The handle is very comfortable and the clip shape is very nicely blended in. Button lock is a huge improvement over the liner lock for multiple reasons. I can open without using the index finger on the guard, I can close one handed with just the button and not having to shift the hand position.

Things I don't like: When I use the index finger to flip in addition to wrist motion, the button lock sticks and won't unlock without a lot of force, sometimes thumb on thumb. This is probably a break in issue, and won't be a future problem. That being said, locking solidly is much preferred to the alternative.

Things I have no clue: I don't know how the steel compares between the two? The Latama is CPM-20CV and the Kershaw is 8Cr13MoV

If the button lock wears in nicely, I can totally see myself carrying this when not working, with the caveat that in 95% of situations, my little executive key ring scissors get used instead of wishing I had a knife, and I'm also Concealed Carrying my M&P Shield 9mm.
