Searching here and there, but i failed finding something different from unboxing and thinking and talking.
The only useful review i found was the one about the pocket clip fail and i find it useful because it shows a real problem.
I'm lookng for a review that would put this knife through everyday cutting tasks. Different materials like wires, rope, wood, plastic, used auto tires and so on. Nothing extreme.

I still cannot do that myself as the knife is yet to be introduced where i live.

So can anyone point out such a review?

Thanx
Mitko

I think it might take another few weeks. The blade steel is fairly common in Chinese knives, I'd suspect that the 8Cr steel will perform about as well as it does on other knives of the same steel make by Kershaw.

I have had mine for a few days. I haven't abused it but can give my impressions. I have large hands and can barely get a four finger grip. I wish it were just a tad bigger. No reflection on the knife, just an observation. The knife locks up nicely with no play. The lock bar on mine engages at about 80+ percent. Later than the ones I've seen in unboxings, but I'm not too worried about it. It was pretty stiff to open initially but is smoothing out. The blade is centered. The knife is a bargain at online prices. I haven't sharpened it yet, but expect it to perform as other off shore Kershaws. I wanted to add that I have no doubt it will perform better than one would expect for a $30 folding knife.

Been meaning to get my hands on one but moneys tight and the wife won't budge.

Don't be sad about that. buying & trying new knives is fun, but a knife cannot smile at you at the end of a tough day or hug you... So life and family before knives. They are just toys :-)

thanx :-) What did you do with it on a daily basis.

Just got one in the mail today. I was never very interested in Emerson knives but I wanted to see how I would like the design but only costing $38 shipped.
Man I am glad I did. Other than the first few times opening it was stiff, it loosened up with a few openings. Sturdy, tight construction, good lock up. But the most impressive thing is the grind on the blade.
I will probably buy a few other K/E knives and even keep an eye out for a bargain on an actual Emerson. The wave really works well even though it still feels really weird to me.

I haven't really done anything but cut a few odds and ends. Just the normal run of the day things you would use a pocket knife for.

Cons so far.
-Mine came somewhat dull, it could barely cut paper.
-It's freaking heavy for it's size.
-The jimping sucks! Worst jimping ever!

Pros so far.
-I cut a bunch of cardboard and it glided through even when it was pretty dull
-It stabbed right through thick layers of cardboard
-The knife came with the blade centered.
-No blade play, it's a stout knife!
-The action smoothed tremendously over a day of flipping it.
-It took a wicked edge on the Sharpmaker.
-No issues with the pocket clip on mine.
-Absolutely beautiful blade, I love how the grinds are stonewashed and the flats are brushed satin!

Overall It's one of the best value knifes out there, I put it in the Spyderco tenacious line in turns of value. Buy it, most people won't regret it.

Thanx Forrest G. That sounds like a good budget blade :-). Still looking for more reviews. A month or so till distributor delivery :-) SHARE, pls :-)

Got mine a while ago, really like it. Extremely solid and ergonomic, easily worth the $35 I paid for it. Definitely a competitor to the Tenacious. The big differences are wave, saber grind, and framelock vs hole, ffg, and liner lock. I'll report back after I thump on it a bit

Well... we all know that saber grind is no match for the performance of FFG in terms of cutting. Still i'm impatiently waiting for the KE cqc6. You and Forrest are probably right about quality vs price competition :-) I can't wait to try it :-)

I have had mine for about a week. I think for the money it is an excellent value. Mine came pretty sharp, but it was extremely easy to sharpen on a sharp maker. The only cons so far are the weight and it not being so smooth out of box. It has smoothed out over the course of a week. Also the tip doesn't come that sharp from the factory, this took about ten minutes on the sharp maker to fix. I also put a different pocket clip on mine,( it has the same pattern has most benchmade clips. There isn't thing wrong with the supplied clip, I just find a normal benchmade clip carries better. The wave feature works great on it. The lock up on mine is about 50%. So far I have cut steak, paracord, paper, cardboard, blister packs, envelops, and plant material(yard work). Overall as others have mentioned this has made me maybe purchase a "real" Emerson in the future. For now I am looking forward to getting the tanto version(CQC-7).
