Rigger's knife, J. Adams, England

Hi.

J. Adams of Sheffield, England, sell a straight edged Ministry of Defence rigger's knife that is 5mm thick, about 1/4", at the spine. Are rigger's knives usually made of such thick stock?

Every riggers knife I have seen in the Navy was usually thick. Most are very thick with a blunt tip and full height flat grind. At least the ones our Bosn's mates were issued, usually paired with a marlin spike.
