I dont know any details, all I'll say is I'll miss his no bs thoughts. Made some neat knives and had a good heart always made me chuckle.

Reading this in utter disbelief! May his soul rest in peace and his name to be always remembered in here with nothing but fondness.
 
Just saw a post from one of our mutual friends on my facebook feed. I was hoping it was some kind of joke or misunderstanding, but looks like it's legit. I've been following Matt since his early days in the knife community, and genuinely looked forward to his posts on the various platforms we were both a part of. I loved watching his progression as a maker. He definitely had his own style, and a larger than life personality. I always secretly hoped that his idea for shoulder rigged kydex sheaths for ballpeen hammers would take off. :D

So long brother. You'll be missed!
 
Damn, I'll have to carry my "Charlie Mike" slipjoint he gave me this week.


It was a GEC he passed on, because he did not carry it.

His mother is still alive. It might be nice to send her a ship ton of cards.

Update from the Go Fund ME page

Matt’s family will be holding a memorial service on Thursday, January 24 at 11 AM at Bethany Church in Fresno California. There will be a potluck immediately following. It is considered a public event on Facebook. If you are intending on coming, that is wonderful. If you’re only able to be there in spirit, it is much appreciated. Matt’s mother asked me to convey to you all how much she has appreciated all the kind and wonderful words. Although she has not commented yet please know that she is able to see all of your comments and it has warmed her and the family’s hearts.

Always looked forward to his reviews and videos. I really liked the knives he made and his overall no-bs attitude. Rest in Peace.
 
Absolute tragedy... such a sad thing to hear today. Sab tools said she spoke with his mother; police stated it was from natural causes and seemed to be accidental. May want to follow her for any updates.

Heck I was even subscribed to his channel.......

It always brought a smile to my face when I saw his user name come up in different places..............RIP..Matt..
