Unfortunately I need to sell most of my knife collection to finance some much needed home improvement works. I'll be listing a few every week for the next month including some rare Randalls and a few older Chris Reeves one-piece models. But to start here are 3 Rockstead fixed blades and 1 folder. See the link below for pictures:

If you do not know about Rockstead knives (and why you should own at least one despite the fact that they are so expensive) you can check out their website for all the technical details as well as the many videos of cutting tests available.

IMPORTANT INFO ABOUT SHIPPING: I am located near Paris, so all shipping originates from France (I generaly like to use Fedex or DHL for high value shipment to the USA or to any non EU countries). Shipping cost will be calculated once you tell me where I would need to have the knives shipped. As a rule of thumb count 75€ (about 100 us$) for shipping to a European Union country and 150€ (about 200 us$) for shipping to the US via FEDEX or a similar service.
Since packages above the value of 800€ can NOT be fully insured at the regular post office, regular mail is not an option for high end pieces so I will have to use either ChronoPost or Fedex or DHL
Obviously if you are in Paris (or simply passing through Paris on a trip) I will gladly meet you to give you the knives in person.

Also please note all prices here below are first quoted in euros (with the current us$ conversion in brackets).

ROCKSTEAD - "GI" #001

http://s909.photobucket.com/user/Fabrizio_1968/library/ROCKSTEAD KNIVES/Rockstead knife - GI 001

MINT like new, never used, never re-sharpened, never carried.

SPECIAL COLLECTORS: This is the very first of the GI models to ever leave the Rockstead workshop (I reserved it in late 2006 when that model was still only a project without even an existing prototype and I received it directly from Hanada-san hands in 2008). I think only about 100 or so GI's where ever produced (combining those made in YXR7 and those in ZDP) and this series is now discontinued since last year.
I think I saw a similar one with a later serial number on sale at Knife Center for about 3000$ and another one in the UK at Heinie for over 2000£

The blade material for this piece is YXR7 "matrix high speed tool steel" (from Hitachi Metals Ltd.) hardened to 65 HRC and coated with a 3 micron layer of DLC ("diamond like carbon coating"). Basically it is rust proof and virtually scratch proof. The blade features a traditional sword-like convex grind.

  • Total length: 253mm (10")
  • Blade length: 130mm (5"1/8)
  • Weight: 300g (10,5oz)
  • Japanese style wrapped handle with silk over same (stingray skin) and decorated with a menuki
  • High-tech aluminum sheath with blade locking mechanism and nylon belt loop
  • Japanese style silk protection pouch

Price: 1725€ (note these are Euros, in american dollars it makes approximatively 2,365us$) which is the same price I paid for it back in 2008.

ROCKSTEAD - "GI" #009

http://s909.photobucket.com/user/Fabrizio_1968/library/ROCKSTEAD KNIVES/Rockstead knife - GI 009

MINT like new, never used, never re-sharpened, never carried.

One of the early GI models, unfortunatelly probably not the first ZDP one. As above, I think only about 100 or so GI's where ever produced (combining those made in YXR7 and those in ZDP) and this series is now discontinued since last year.
I think I saw a similar one with a later serial number on sale at Knife Center for about 3500$ and another one in the UK at Heinie for over 2250£

The blade material for this piece is a san-mai sandwich with ZDP189 "high carbon powder stainless steel" (from Hitachi Metals Ltd.) in the center (with an edge hardened to 67,5 HRC) and ATS34 steel for the sides. The blade features a traditional sword-like convex grind.

  • Total length: 253mm (10")
  • Blade length: 130mm (5"1/8)
  • Weight: 300g (10,5oz)
  • Japanese style wrapped handle with silk over same (stingray skin) and decorated with a menuki
  • High-tech aluminum sheath with blade locking mechanism and nylon belt loop
  • Japanese style silk protection pouch

Price: 1825€ (note these are Euros, in american dollars it makes approximatively 2,500us$) which is the same price I paid for it back in 2008.

ROCKSTEAD - "JIN" #032 SOLD

Basically it is rust proof and virtually scratch proof. The blade features a traditional sword-like convex grind.

  • Total length: 253mm (10")
  • Blade length: 130mm (5"1/8)
  • Weight: 300g (10,5oz)
  • Handle material is stabilized Arizona desert ironwood
  • High-tech aluminum sheath with blade locking mechanism and nylon belt loop
  • Japanese style silk protection pouch

Price: 1250€ (note these are Euros, in american dollars it makes approximatively 1,715us$). SOLD

ROCKSTEAD - "KOU" #045 SOLD

http://s909.photobucket.com/user/Fabrizio_1968/library/ROCKSTEAD KNIVES/Rockstead knife - KOU 045

Excellent condition, never used and never re-sharpened, however there a 2 micro-scratches on the handle near the belt clip (see picture with the red arrows). i discounted the price to take that into account

The KOU folding knife series is now discontinued.

Feel free to contact me via PM if you have any questions (and to ask for my phone number if needed),

Best regards,
Fabrizio

Great knives and welcome to OUR BF Family
ALSO post in US INCHES and not in mm
It will help your sale
Please post US Dollars and shipping fees and way in which they will be shipped

Also contact a MODERATOR to move this WHOLE THREAD to CUSTOMS These are not Production Fixed Blade

Trying to help out buddy

Thanks Gizmoman for your advice,
I included the price conversion in US$ and the sizes in inches.
I still think that most potential buyers are going to be Europeans (knife lovers from countries who do not share a common language usually end up here on American forums since we can all more or less read English...) rather than US based ones... but everyone is welcome to contact me and ask any question.
And I contacted the moderator about may be moving the thread.
Best regards
FAB

PS: I forgot to mention in the original thread here above: I am not against trades. In particular I like almost anything made by scandinavians like Anders Hogstrom, Roger Berg, André Andersson or american makers like Lynn Rhea, Matt Lamey, ect...

The Rockstead JIN 032 and the folder KOU 045 are both sold!!!!

The Japanese style GI 001 and GI 009 are still available.
