I have access to a lot of old used roller bearings. I have been looking online, and from what I can tell most are 52100. Would it be worth holding on to these for future use? Right now I am doing stock removal blades, but I am working towards learning to forge.

If thy are of a good size then yes I would hold on to them. If thy are good quality bearing like Timpkin or SKS it's a good chance thy are 52100. I have heard of cheep Chinese bearings being case hardened don't don't have experience with them. But I love forging bearings, great steel
