I am interested in buying a Bowie Knife...
I am looking for something thats Not that Expensive but can take a Good Beating.
I like the Old West Style Bowie Knives.

I LOVE the Look and the Sheath on it...
But $25 Seems too cheap for Quality.

Does anybody know anything about this knife?
If this Isn't a good knife then what do you guys suggest?
Please keep in mind that I want to stay Under or Around $100.
Thank you for your Input.

I agree on your initial take that $25 is way to cheap if you actually expect it to be useful. Take a look in the Knife Makers For Sale Area, you can often find some good knives of that style at a reasonable price.

I have been looking for a nice Bowie too, at a price that want too high, and those are difficult to find. That RR Bowie seems to be a replica knife, more for display than for use. I bought a bowie style Cold Steel Bushman, not really a "real" bowie knife but a nice knife for the price.

I bought a similar one from Cheaper Than Dirt, not a Rough Rider/Roosevelt Bowie, but basically the same thing. http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/DBA057-63821-1258.html . The Roosevelt Bowie is the same as the Patrick Henry Bowie from SMKW, just different markings. When I couldn't get a Patrick Henry, I ordered the CTD Bowie. CTD couldn't/wouldn't tell me the steel type in theirs; SMKW would only say the Roosevelt & Henry were 440, but wouldn't say whether it was -A, -B, or -C.

Okay chopper, very weak blade tip - I broke off a 1/2" of the tip on mine. It looked kind of nice from a distance, but it weighs way more than you'd ever want to carry. The handle is thin rosewood slabs, brass spacers, then full 1/4" tang.

I would have returned it (before I broke the tip), but I realized that the sheath would work for another knife I had. The leather sheath from CTD is VERY nice.

For $20., I'd say get it & try it out.

thx - cpr
