Rough Rider, Colt, and Marbles Fixed Blades

After the long thread on Rough Rider slipjoints, I thought I'd start a thread on fixed blades. What do you think of them? I have several RR's and Colts and they are sharp. I have not used them enough to know if they are as good as the slipjoints. I don't have a Marbles fixed blade but now that SMKW owns the name all three are made in the same RR factory. So what do you have and what do you think of them?

The RR 176 is an awesome hunter, looks like a Loveless drop point, "root wood" handle, sharp as a razor and holds a great edge. They also have a tiny slim "bird and trout" with stag handles, a nice knife too. I was told that some of the new fixed blades are from Pakistan and weren't up to RR standards.

Best regards

I have the stag bird and trout knife your are talking about and really like it. Not many RR's are made in Pakistan. Some Colts but a lot of Marbles. if it's a Marbles Damascus, it's made in Pakistan.

RR has a new line out that looks interesting called the Heavy Hunter Series-The Caribou, The Rogue and the Wolverine. The Wolverine looks a little like a Scharde Sharpfinger. Called and asked and they are made in China. Backordered the Rougue(it's drop point)RR1346. Caribou 1347 and Wolverine RR 1351.

Fellas! We have to have pictures in threads like these! :)

The Caribou and Rogue look pretty similar, but the Rogue is out of stock right now.

I have one of the Loveless style hunters and I use it for yard work, it has held up very nicely over the last 2 years . Holds it edge very well.

I really don't like the looks of the Heavy Hunter series, but the sheath looks quite interesting.

Just difference. I like their looks. A totally different look from previous RR. On a different note(still has to do with RR). I wish SMKW had put burlwood like on some of thier RR knives like pictured above or some other better looking wood on the Shcrade blades theybought at the liquadation and sent to the RR factory to have handled and the brass guard put on.
