Anybody else get the chance to play with these kits?I bought a few a while back and just put the little lockback together. It made a surprisingly good little knife.Blade got sharp as heck.Locks up nice and has a great feel in hand with the slight curve.Took about an hour and a half and cost me $8.00 i think.I did change the laminate wood out to grey/black linen micarta. What do you think?

Great job Don. Since you put it together, I guess we can say; "it's made in the USA"!!:) It really looks sharp with those covers.

Thanks!Yes,I did it.I dont think they have any that are filed. The spring and frame are rough on the edges.Makes it fun!I replaced the brass pins with ns also.I'll get a shot of the backspring in a minute. Thanks Ed! Yea,its sorta kinda (made) in America.

Here is the rough trapper.I will probably chunk the spey blade, backspring, and liner and make it a nice single blade.

I've thought about getting one or two of these kits. But I'm not sure what the minimum tooling that's required to assemble and finish.

If you have a sharp file and a few grits of sandpaper you got it made.I say that even though i have a shop full of grinders and buffers and i used them. They are really very simple and the main points of interest are prefitted nicely like the blade to spring fit. There are instructions, but i always avoid those much to my wifes dismay.Ill stick one or two of these up for a giveaway soon.
