Is there any association or connection between Rowen and TOPS knives? They have many of the same features like the liners, serrations, micarta handles, even the coating feels the same as on my TOPS, knives. Plus, I heard Jeff say that they were shipping from Idaho, which is where TOPS is loacated.

I love both companies and will definitely buy more from each!

Couldn't tell ya. Rowen Manufacturing is in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

TOPS did do the Laser Strike for us many years ago but they don't do anything for us now. Rowen Manufacturing does all of our work on knives. Shon Rowen will be at our booth at the Blade Show so drop by and meet him.

Yes we do manufacture for TOPS. Mike Fuller, (owner of TOPS) is a great guy and we are proud to build product for him. In fact we have been manufacturing products for the sports and recreation industries for about 30 years, but it was Mike that helped us break into the cutlery industry. On a side note TOPS had Ron Hood do some video in our facility last summer and Hoods Woods should be coming out with a video on knife manufacturing soon. You guys might look at picking it up, should be a great video. Also If anyone is interested Jeff posted a intro letter for us on the RAT Cutlery forum a while back here is the link. http://www.jungletraining.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3817

Then I need to send Mike a thank you note for gettin you guys into it! Rowen is doin great work for everyone they are assoc. with. Glad you guys are here and proud to own product that has come off your line  Good Job!

I've always been drawn to the TOPS knives, handle material, 1095 carbon steel...Just my style, but I've never been thrilled with any of the designs or the marketing.

With the intro of the RC line, I saw a design that really appealed too me and the handle mat. and steel that I was looking for all by an american company.

I think this news could very well add to the reputation that RAT is currently building seeing that TOPS already has a proven track record of good quality, hard use tools.

To me, it's nice to know the company behind the company so to speak. Rowen obviously knows a thing or two about making some awesome knives ;)
