When I look at the pictures of the Russian Bayonet at the website I noticed the ricasso is much bigger than on previous versions.
Because these knives are all handmade are there some with a smaller ricasso (larger cutting edge) ?

I don't understand why you think ricasso is much bigger? I think we aleays had the same ricasso.

I like the guard of the latest version more, but have now purchased a previous version on ebay because of the shorter ricasso.

I see... Yes all knives are handmade, so possible changes from knife to kife.
